Keep up the good work Dale! It's hard to make a change.
Personal Fitness: No substitute for a regular but moderate program. I'm sitting here nursing a total left knee replacement. This may have happened anyway, but if I had used some different gears as I endulged in all of the different physical activities of my life it may have not been necessary for a few more years.
I'm finishing my 38th year as a physical education teacher and during this time I have played on basketball teams, softball teams, tennis teams and have spent most of my time teaching on tile floors.
I would encourage everyone to find a program that will help you to understand the value of proper eating, the need for exercise and proper rest.
We all have 1000's of reasons to do nothing and it is difficult to make changes in lifelong habits....but it can be done and you will be amazed at how good you will feel if you just take time each day to walk for 30 or 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Take time for yourself. Noone is going to give it to you.....You have to take it.
You may think you can't make changes because some of us feel like we have to look like movie stars or athletes to be successful with our efforts to maybe lose a few pounds or reshape our bodies.
Be happy with who you are, enjoy who you are.....just treat your body with the respect it deserves.
There isn't a magical answer or one program that works for everone but to do nothing will get you just that....NOTHING!!
We rely on our time to walk and we simply try to eat smaller portions. However, we live where Krispy Kreme has their headquarters and there is a BBQ joint on every corner. We don't always meet our goals but we try to keep some type of activity in our lifestyle. But less bread and butter and fewer sweets have made a big difference. We also go dancing at least once a week
I wish I had some magical program to offer, but all I really have is a wish for you to make a promise to yourself to try to be healthy. Good Luck!
Yours for better health,
Donnie |
