Hello everyone,
We received a very nice and encouraging e-mail from Karen Miller Black, HEHE (Huntington East) Class of ’62 that I would like to share with you. It is a compliment to everyone since your interest and participation have made it the success that it is. If you would like Karen’s e-mail address, please let me know. Dale

Dear Dale Tincher, I just wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed your High School website and how helpful all of the information that everyone has submitted (Historical, WV information, Watchdog, etc) has been to me. I graduated from East High School in 62 and have always been very active in our reunions. We had approximately 286 in our class and I have had a time getting our locals to respond to our events. It is wonderful to see how involved your classmates are, and it is encouraging to me. We do have a class site that one of our classmates started about 9 years ago. It only took me about 30 years to find him and I am so thankful, because he has gotten a lot of our classmates interested. After checking many local high school sites, your’s is by far the most outstanding. I don’t know how you do what you do with this site ---- but keep up the GREAT work.
Sincerely, Karen Miller Black - HEHS Class of 1962

Hello everyone. We received an e-mail from Grethe Myles. She wrote, "In the photo of the reunion #1, classes 1932-34, my father--Joseph H. "Bus" Myles-- is the second from the left in the back row. I'm sorry, but I am unable to identify any of the other people. I am currently working on family history and was delighted to locate this photo on your site. If you are able to locate a yearbook from that era, I would be interested in seeing any additional photos of the Myles family who lived on Big Sewell Mountain. FYI--Dad and several of his siblings are buried at the Sewell Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. A cousin, David Myles, still farms on the old home place."

Gerry Mitchell sent a picture to Grethe and let her know that we didn't think there were yearbooks during 1932 - 1934. If anyone can provide any further information for Grethe, please let me or Gerry know and we will pass it on to her.

Grethe followed up with comments that included, "Your website is terrific. I Googled Lewisburg High School, too, hoping to find aunts or uncles. There was nothing I could locate that is as extensive as your project. The next step is another visit to the North House in Lewisburg."

Hello everyone. We received a nice note from Tom Surbaugh. If any of you can supply Tom a '52 yearbook and/or provide some memories/stories about his father, Franklin Subaugh, I know he would appreciate it. Gerry Mitchell is going to send Tom some of the ones on the Website. Please feel free to reply to the discussion board or to me. I will supply his e-mail address if you write to me. Take care, my friends. Dale

(P.S. Separate topic - I always enjoy Donnie Puckett's posts so much. I'm going to make a point of going to Winston-Salem to have lunch with him and get to know him better.)

Mr. Tincher,

My Father, Franklin Surbaugh graduated from Rainelle High School in 1952. He passed away in 1999 after living in Parkersburg most of his life. In 2002 his house (where my step mother still lives) caught fire and many of his things (including his yearbooks) were lost.

It was great to stumble upon this Rainelle reunion site as I found a few photos of my dad at the 1992 reunion and from the photos posted of the 1952 yearbook. I know this is a longshot, but I was wondering if you would know of anyone or of anyway I could find a copy of the 1952 yearbook? I have very few pictures of my dad now especially from his high school days and would very much like to find some of the ones posted on this site. Thank you very much for this site and for any information that you may have that could help me.

Sincerely,

Tom Surbaugh
Charlotte, NC
