Vivian SimsRAINELLE — Vivian Alvena Sims, 72, of Rainelle, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, following a short illness.
Born June 7, 1936 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Maggie Sevy.
Mrs. Sims was a homemaker and a member of Big Sewell Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Troy Lee Sims, on Oct. 7, 2005.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Burton Sims and wife, Debora of Loops Road; three grandchildren, Matthew Sims and wife, Janet of Maplewood, Susan Sims of Loops Road, and Samantha Williams and husband, Matt of Loops Road; three great grandchildren, Olivia and Kaiden Sims and Kayleigh Williams; three brothers, Kellum Sevy and wife, Geneva of Goshen, Ind., Owen Sevy and wife, Linda of North Carolina and Estal Sevy and wife, Gaile of Belpre, Ohio, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Rev. Mike Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle.
