William ‘Bill’ Gray


RAINELLE — William “Bill” Gray, 57, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 26, 2006, at his home following a long illness.

Born April 5, 1949, at Mount Hope, he was a son of Ruth Currier Gray of Jacksonville, Fla., and the late Robert Gray.

He was a member of Rainelle United Methodist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the 811th Ordnance Reserve Unit of Rainelle.

Bill was a carpenter and a truck driver.

Those left to mourn are his wife, Brenda Willis Gray; his mother, Ruth C. Gray of Jacksonville; daughter, Lori Gray White and husband, Robert, of Rainelle; three sons, Mark Gray and wife, Linda, of Rainelle, Shawn Gray of Rainelle and Steven Gray of Rainelle, and Justin Crookshanks, who was like a son to him, and wife, Mindy; a brother, Donald Gray and wife, Sherry, of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren, Eli and Emme White, Jennifer, Brian, Katlyn and Ethan Gray, all of Rainelle.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating.

The body is to be cremated.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family has requested that donations of sympathy be made to Greenbrier Valley Hospice, 540 N. Jefferson St., Box 7, Suite D, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
