Not much to update in Rainelle unless you want to listen the latest news concerning the town, therefore I have chosen not to comment on politics and our Mayor.

I did choose to talk to you about our wonderful winter wonderland our own little Alaska, Rainelle. The temperature has been below zero this week following by several inches of snow... They have not had any school this week!!!

My Friend, Shelby Carr Bryant, invited Susie Weber Minturn, Mary Hartford Gwinn, and myself up for an afternoon of playing bridge.
Much to Mary's surprise Shelby baked Mary a birthday cake..!!!!

So I thought I would share our afternoon with you......
Our group is the great golf foursome on Rainelle golf course passing time waiting for spring so we can beat the ball up..lol

Happy Birthday Mary !!!! Thank you Shelby for a great afternoon.

I think we are going bowling next week...lol...A little bigger ball than we are use to playing with........................
No hole just one big gutter !!!!

Andy, haven't you Rainelleians heard about global warming?? This is the Rainelle I remember - tire chains, shovels, sliding backwards on hills, sleds, etc. Thank you for sending the photos - I enjoyed them and I'm sure many others did. Dale

Andy: Thank you for doing the pictures of the snow scenes. They are beautiful. I was hoping you would but I didn't want to ask you to venture out (should have known you would be out walking anyway ha). What fun to click on here and see those.

I enjoy walking in the snow in February. I usally do not go walk when the temperature is below twenty. One day Susie and I did make the challenge when the temperature was 15 degrees.........

I do not enjoy the snow in March, April, and May.

I am very happy when you enjoy the pictures.....

Hello everyone, There has been interest in helping the Rainelle Parks Board in conjunction with helping pay for the upcoming Rick K. & The Allnighters band that will conduct a concert during the reunion. I will ask some of you to provide information about the Park Board and how your donations can help. To recognize people who have contributed to the Park Board and concert, plus to recognize additional individuals who wish to contribute and help beautify the town we remember and love, I have set up a page that I will update as donations come in - see http://www.rainellereunion.com/donations.html Thank you. Hot Dogs. On one of these boards we discussed hot dogs. I can say for certain now (my own humble opinion) that the best hotdogs are at Dairy Delite in Rupert. The french bun is as good as the steamed bun. If you dare to venture into Crimson Tide territory, please enjoy the hot dogs there. No offense to other hot dog makers in Rainelle but a visit home would not be complete (or for someone who lives at home) without a Dairy Delite hot dog. Really!

Andy, your flower is incredible. What type plant food did you use??
Thanks for the snow scenes. Those were so pretty. Sometimes I do miss having a pot of beef stew bubbling on the wood stove, hot biscuits and potatoes baked in foil in the coals of the wood fire on a lovely snowy day...thank you.

You made my Easter. Really glad I checked in today. Am in the process of fixing my house up and selling it, so I can come back to where I was born. It's really cold here in Ohio too, don't have as much snow
tho.Have visited a few times since my family left in 1950, always sad
to come back here. If you or anyone can give me a site or info, on the
changes that may have happenend, that would make me decide to or not to move back to Rainelle, but maybe another place close by, I would really appreciate it, I just want to come back to where I belong....
West By God Va. Need to know the prices of housing etc.Have so many
memories (great ones) will post them soon. Can hardly wait to get back
to the mountains. HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A GREAT EASTER. BOB.........

ML I use the ole faithful Miracle gro for all of my plants ..inside and outside.....Thank you...!!!!!

Bob, It is so great to see you on line...!!!!
Maybe when you return for the reunion you can decide where you would like to move.....The other side of the county seems to be the greener grass ..however three times as expensive....More activity for us seniors.....

Then there is no place like home......
