Michelle for Carma Posted - 02/03/2006 : 22:27:37
Dear RHS Reunion Committee Members and Friends:

I am writing on behalf of my mother Carma Lee Jackson Herold class of 1957. My mother passed away on January 16, 2005 from lung cancer. She fought with incredible strength. She did not want to leave this world. She had so much to do and loved her four grandaughters so much. She was taken from us too soon. Mom was 65 years young. My father and her husband James (Jim) Douglas Herold took care of my mother for several years. I moved from Ohio to West Virginia to help my parents out. I was lucky to have spent time with my mother. She was an incredible woman and loved life. We had so much fun together. She was really like my sister...not my mother. After mom passed dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in May. He passed seven months later from when mom left this world on August 14, 2005. My father was 69 years young. I was fortunate to be with my father the last seven months of his life. I got to know my father in a way I never knew. I am definately my mother and father's daughter. I am the spitting image of both of them. I am blessed to of had them as long as I did. I am thankful neither one suffers now. I truly believe that my father died from a broken heart. I know that he had lung cancer but he missed my mother so much. I celebrate their passing because I know they are together and are in a better place. They are no longer sick and are healthy, happy and having the time of their life.

Mom was such a social person. She would be coming to the class reunion if she could. I imagine she will be there in some form or another. I wanted all of her friends to know what a special influence and person she was to me and her friends. She is deeply missed and I love her with all of my heart. She is and always will be the wind beneath my wings. She will live on through me now and forever.

Thank you for loving and praying for my mother.

Yours Truly,
Michelle D. Herold
Daughter of Carma Lee Jackson Herold and James Douglas Herold

Hi Michelle: Your mother Carma Lee was in my husband, Ray Gene Carr's Class of 1957. We were very happy to see your post. Yes, we agree with all the things that you say about your mother. She was a wonderful person and I am sure a great mother to her children and her family. She is surely missed by her classmates. You are a great daughter to have relocated to be with your parents when they needed you. I agree with Andy....please feel free to attend our reunions and participate with your parents friends. We will be looking forward to meeting you and the rest of your family!

Dear Michelle,

Our most heart felt sorrow is with you.....yes, you do have the comfort to know you have been with your parents to help make their limited time special because you were there for them.

Your letter speaks of love, kindness and I am sure a large void in your own life. It is hard to watch your parents health to decline, especially their fullness of life they still had to give to each other and their family and friends.

Yes, you do have the comfort of your parents being together.
Yes, you do have the comfort of your parents being with you.

Your Parents will be missed by her classmates and friends.

May God be with you,

Please, Michelle come and join us for our all school reunion and share your mother's life with her friends of long ago...be assured you will be most welcome.. and you too will learn something about your mother you did not know as well.....I am sure something of humor...The reunion will be a time of love, sharing, and one of most importantance, laughing.

Words cannot speak what the heart feels...Andy Aide Pendleton

Andy
