Posted - 04/16/2006 : 16:51:36 Hello everyone. We are making great progress on yearbooks linked from the site. We would like to get them finished before the beautiful weather drags Gerry and me outside and my work ties me up. We may have 67 & 68 - I'm waiting to hear from someone.
We need the following yearbooks: 46, 47, 54, 55, 56 (the remainder of it), 67, 68. If there are yearbooks, newspapers or other yearbook-type booklets prior to 1941, we would love to add them. Please contact Gerry.Mitchell@RainelleReunion.com Update: 4-17-06 - we have now received commitments for all of the yearbooks.
Chris, Gerry suggested that we ask you to write a poem to see if you can shake them loose. I like the idea. You have a knack for getting things done. We welcome a poem, riddle or whatever you think will work. Dale

Posted - 04/18/2006 : 22:46:20 Patty, what a shame that the flood destroyed so much great history. As least we can rest assured that a flood is not going to destroy this Website. :-) Gerry has copies of the photos in Ohio, I have them in Raleigh, plus we have site backups. We hope everyone will keep contributing information / memories and building the Ranger online museum.
I agree with your comments. The support, enthusiasm and feedback of so many have made, and continue to make, this a very enjoyable undertaking. Based upon what I have seen when looking around, I think we have one of the best reunion sites on the Web.
It is always exciting to hear from Rangers, especially new contributors. Dale

Posted - 04/18/2006 : 13:42:05 I would also like to add my Thanks to Gerry for all the work he has done on the pictures and to all who provided the yearbooks and pictures.
Gee Whiz, I just want to Thank EVERYONE who is participating on this site and even the ones who are just reading!!! (Although you may not think so, we would all love to hear from you!!!)
In response to a previous post, the Rainelle Library did have copies of several of the yearbooks but it is my understanding that they were destroyed in the flood that also destroyed so much of our town. I'm quite sure lots of RHS memoriablia were also lost in homes that were flooded. I know we lost a lot of old store papers dating back to the 20's. |

Posted - 04/17/2006 : 23:24:11 Chris, LOL. We can always count on you. Thank you, the "8 Days of April" is great!!
We have made great progress. Andy Aide Pendleton has located and is sending 55, 56, and 67 to Gerry. Update: It appears that we now have commitments for all of the remaining yearbooks!!! We're almost there. UPDATE: WE NOW HAVE COMMITMENTS FOR ALL THE YEARBOOKS. THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HELPED FIND THEM!
Gerry Mitchell had another great idea. If anyone has the Greenbrier West 69 and 70 yearbooks, we will add them so we can include the Rainelle High School sophomores and juniors of the period. Dale

Posted - 04/17/2006 : 21:31:41 Can someone in the Reunion Committee provide a list of names, address , etc for the seniors for the missing year book years
Where is Patty anyways
Is it even remotely possible somewhere the school saved a yearbook from each year I think they probably did and they are in a box in storage somewhere. Anyone know where the school archives is, before school is out for the year
Quick, the library! Library, what is it? It’s a big building with lots and lots of books and stuff but that’s not important now. The school had the library upstairs east and Rainelle has a town library. Has anyone checked there
