You called the Connecticut game right, Conard. Wow - what a game! Joe Alexander (what a dunk!) and group played great. I'll be watching & cheering with you as they tackle the tough Georgetown team. Dale

Posted - 03/09/2008 : 16:29:39 You have got to see this video if you are a Mountaineer football fan - http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=25666697 It is a highlight video of the Fiesta Bowl and starts with the Pittsburgh loss, Rodriguez leaving, TV broadcasters saying that West Virginia was going to get obliterated, that there was no way a one-dimensional team could beat the powerhouse at Oklahoma, Lee Corza saying Oklahoma by 3 touchdowns, etc., etc. The video shows several game highlights and ends with Owen Schmidt's and Pat White's post-game comments. If you don't get excited again and have tears at the end, we will have to challenge your Mountaineer credentials.

Posted - 01/04/2008 : 08:55:37 Go 'EERS!! I agree, Dale. I love WV! This was a classic, feel-good, underdog wins story. 84% (I don't know 84% of what or who) picked Oklahoma to win. One of the WVU players had a sign on the sidelines that read, "84% wrong!" Here is a good story about Stewart http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=3178487&sportCat=ncf. Posted - 01/03/2008 : 20:38:22 The Fiesta Bown win by WVU was an incredible way to start the year. Though I live in North Carolina, I still cheer for WVU and proudly tell people I am a West Virginian. As you well know, WVU was given little chance to win by the media and sports commentators. Oklahoma was a big time program with lots of football tradition, was explosive and had knocked off #1 Missouri and WVU had lost their coach, etc., etc. I was so anxious and hopeful for them that I was standing in front of the TV through half of the first quarter. As WVU started playing such great defense, I began to get excited and more hopeful. Then the offense started clicking and looking like the WVU we had seen in past games. Wow! What a game. The post-game ceremonies were so enjoyable to watch. Schmidt, Pat White and others represented themselves and WVU so well. What a game! I am still elated and savoring the victory. Go Mountaineers everywhere! Dale
