Posted - 01/15/2006 : 16:41:29 Hello everyone,
We enjoy seeing each others photos. However, many e-mail systems do not handle attachments well, especially if they are large photos. Photos are often removed or the e-mail is placed into a junk folder.
There are several free services that allow you to upload photos and share them with others. They typically reduce them in size somewhat. Many display them as slide shows and allow the link to the photos to be forwarded to others. Virtually all of them allow the person viewing them to purchase prints if desired for 13 to 19 cents each. Most allow you to place the photos on e.g., calendars, cups and order large sizes of the photos. Uploading is simple. You browse to the photos on your hard drive and point to the ones you wish to upload.
I like www.photoworks.com. Andy uses http://www.kodakgallery.com. If you upload them, you can ask "share" the photos with others by sending them the link. I took several photos during a Tincher reunion held each year in Rainelle. Here is a link to the photos I shared with relatives and friends http://www.photoworks.com/share/shareLanding.jsp?shareCode=A9B44C1BEBF&cb=PW I'm the old, fat guy with the big plate of food.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions. Dale

Posted - 01/22/2006 : 18:17:45 Also, I will receive a CD of the past reunion photos this week. I will upload them to Photoworks.com and make the link available to everyone via this discussion board. You can view, share, or buy print them if you wish. Photoworks' prices for prints are 15 to 19 cents apiece, plus they offer larger sizes.

Posted - 01/22/2006 : 18:15:07 Thank you, Polly. I am enjoying it.
If you click on Launch slide show, click on "larger" so you can see the photos better, then click on fast, medium or slow under Auto Advance, you should be able to see a slide show of all the photos in Photoworks or KodakGallery, etc. If you find time to tell me which photo numbers you couldn't see, I will check into it.
These services are wonderful ways to share photos with remote friends and relatives.
Take care, Dale

Posted - 01/22/2006 : 10:54:51 Dale: I just got the time to view the pix of the Tincher reunion. Saw a lot of faces I knew and some I didn't know. Some pix I couldn't view (x'ed out). Thanx for sharing. By the way, you are doing a great job with the Rainelle class reunion site. What would we do without you?

Posted - 01/17/2006 : 19:38:47 Hello everyone. I tried the KodakGallery site. It is a bit trickier than others because they try their best to get visitors to sign up.
To send photos after uploading them, click on the Share Photos tab at the top of the page. Click on the Album you wish to share, then click Continue. Uncheck the checkbox near the bottom of the page that says, "Require friends to sign in to view and save your photos." (This is important for Kodak senders or recipients will have to enter a user name and password when they receive the photos. Photoworks.com does not have the checkbox & it is a bit more straightforward to use IMHO.)
Input the e-mail addresses of people to whom you wish to send the photo album and click on Send Invitation.
I hope that helps.

Posted - 01/17/2006 : 14:07:36 Hello everyone,
A couple tips - you can share a photo album from photoworks, kodak gallery & Walmart's (I think Walmart does it) photo services by clicking on "Share" and addressing the e-mail to 64@rainellereunion.com. Or, if you wish to share an album with a few people and don't want to enter it into the service's share form and you don't see a link, you can "share" the photo to your personal address, then copy & paste the link from the message at the bottom of the e-mail you receive (below the slideshow) that displays: If you can't see the link, copy and paste the following directly into your browser: http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=prxi0xw.bhkgu68&x=0&h=1&y=-28nw5p
, e.g., paste this portion: http://www.photoworks.com/share/shareLanding.jsp?shareCode=A775F42BF4B&cb=PW. Jerry, I hope you don't mind that I shared a couple you sent to me.
I hope that helps.
