Hello Everyone. We have discovered that we can help manage some of our other proceses by making changes to the user profile entries. As you can imagine, trying to locate and keep track of classmates is quite a challenge. Also, as the board grows, you will find it much easier to track each other if you add additional information to the profile entries. When you Register, PLEASE enter your user name in this fashion-first name, maiden name (if applicable), last name and the year you graduated (or would have graduated). Like this: Patty Cox Osborne 67. For example, by adding the graduation year, you will be able to type "67" (or whatever year you are searching for) into the member search box and list all of the members who graduated in 1967. Also, PLEASE enter your city and state to help us keep you up to date. Ladies, we hate to ask this, but in the event your name, maiden name, last name and graduation year are more than 25 characters, please enter you maiden name, then enter your married name in the last name field.
We will contact existing members and ask permission for Dale to change their user names to the current format. Your user name will change to the above format once you have granted the permission.
Thank You,
Patty

Hello everyone, to simplify user name maitenance and to save time, I will periodically change user/member names that do not conform to the preferred format, which is: FirstName MaidenName (if applicable) LastName and year, e.g., Mary Smith Brown 64. I will write to the individual I have changed and ask if he/she is okay with my making the change (after I have made the change.) I will keep a copy of the prior user name and if the individual replies that he/she prefers to use the one he/she entered, e.g., mary211 (example), I will change it back.

I apologize if this process is different than other discussion boards and sites that you may use. However, we are trying to kill three birds with one stone: 1) helping the reunion committee keep track of classmates' graduation year and e-mail address (the system allows sorting by certain fields, e.g., we can sort by graduation year with this format) 2) helping classmates identify each other by simply reviewing the member list 3) helping easily identify who has made discussion board posts.

Thank you for your help and understanding! Dale

Everyone,

Please do not hesitate to ask me to change your user name to FirstName MaidenName (if applicable) LastName and year, e.g., Mary Smith Brown 64

It is a quick, easy process, but it has to be done by an administrator since the user name is used in other places.

Thank you,

Dale

Hello Bill, I will change your user name. I can change user names for existing Members, but I hate to do so without obtaining permission from the Members. When you log in again, please use Bill Bishir 64 as your user name. The discussion board will remember that user name when you visit again.

We have posted a note on the www.rainellereunion.com page and in caps on this page, requesting that new Members read the signup instructions. Unfortunately, the instructions were not there for those who signed up prior to yesterday.

We apologize for the confusion. We determined after starting the board that it could be helpful in Patty's efforts to keep track of Members so she can keep them up to date on reunion and other information. Thank you, Dale

OK, maybe it is old age, but after reading the following instructions, I am at a loss on how to do the change requested.

Editing Your Profile
You may easily change any information stored in your registration profile by using the "profile" link located near the top of each page. Simply identify yourself by typing your Username and Password and all of your profile information will appear on screen. You may edit any information (except your Username).

Also, maybe the name format should be stated before a new classmate enters the forum

We have added additional fields to the member profiles. Exising members can add the additional information if they wish. If you wish to add a photo to your profile, it can be linked from a Website or e.g., a Photoworks or KodakGallery file or you can send it to me and I will add it. Dale
